For Cat, the Western lifestyle started long before she could even walk. She was quite literally born horseback—her mother was in the roping pen while pregnant with her. Raised on horseback, Cat developed a deep love for reining, cutting, and cowhorses, and her passion for these disciplines has shaped much of her life.

For Matthew, being horseback isn’t just a passion—it’s a family tradition rooted in Western horsemanship. His great-grandfather, Axel Springborg, was a celebrated horseman who rode his Palomino, "King of Glen Ivy," in the President Eisenhower Inaugural Parade and served as a Marshal in the Tournament of Roses Parade. Axel’s leadership as a founding member of the Long Beach Mounted Police left an enduring mark on the Western community.

Matthew’s connection to horsemanship deepens with his grandmother’s cousin, Ray Hunt, a legendary figure who revolutionized horse training. Ray worked with iconic ranches like the 6666 Ranch, helping cowboys start their young horses and setting the standard for modern horsemanship. Together, these family legacies of skill, tradition, and dedication to the cowboy way live on through Matthew and Cat, carrying forward a rich heritage that’s as timeless as the West itself.
